The 2 boys are Prince Joachims 2 sons, Prince Nikolaj (8 years old) and Prince Felix (5 years old). The elder man is Princess Maries father, Alain Cavallier. And Prince Joachim couldn't help crying a little.

I'm just listening to my radio and some reporters have found out where they spend their honneymoon. And I think we have a member in here who might be lucky to meet them. They are in Vancouver Island in a place called "Wild retreate" (I hope I spell it correct).

Oh, Phoenix! It could be funny if you suddenly met Prince Joachim and Princess Marie - perhaps even close to where you live.

Oh Wow Vigs. Do you know where this Wild Retreat is on Vancouver Island? Is that the name of the resort? I know most places here, but have never heard of that particular one. I should see if any mention has been made of their visit in our local paper.

If so, it is a lovely area in Pacific Rim National Park, where Long Beach is located. I have camped in the area many times, and walked for hours along the sandy expanse of beach. It is about 5 1/2 hours drive from where I live.

No, Jen! I guess it wasn't there. It was called something with "Pe" or "Pi" or perhaps it's a town close to it called with those letters. It wasn't called something with "River". It's a place where they can only come to in a small boat. So perhaps it's a little island close to Vancouver Island. They said it's a place where a lot of married couples spend their honeymoon. I'm looking at a map of Vancouver Island and if I find the name I will tell you.

I just thought it's so funny that they are in your area somewhere.

Yes you are right Vigs. Tofino is where Pacific Rim National Park, Long Beach, and this resort are located. It is absolutely gorgeous there and you can walk for hours on an expanse of white sandy beach. You can also find very interesting things on the beach, as there is open water from there to Japan. Often one can find glass fishing balls or other treasures that have floated across the Pacific.

It is unfortunate that our weather is not very good at the moment, as is often the case in June, so that Prince Joachim and Princess Marie could enjoy oudoor adventures in the sunshine, although I am sure they will find some interesting things to do and see.

Just near there there is an island named after my great, great.....grandfather, Captain John Meares, who sailed out with Captain Vancouver and discovered this area. Perhaps the royal couple will visit the island which is a very interesting wilderness area, and also a First Nations (indigenous peoples) reserve.

By the way! It's Prince Joachims 39th birthday today! And I guess he and Princess Marie celebrate it in Vancouver Island (if they haven't travelled on to another place).
